Reload is an enthralling alternative to the standard Fortnite Battle Royale game mode. This is a battle royale game mode in which players get extra lives and respawn after getting killed. It is also a game mode played on much smaller maps with 40 players rather than 100. Some players prefer Reload because its crowded maps ensure more regular combat action. If you’ve never played Reload, it’s an exciting Fortnite game mode worth checking out. Here are some tips for winning solo and squad-based Fortnite Reload matches.
Don’t Waste Lives in Solo
The main difference between solo and squad Fornite Reload matches is that you only get two additional lives for respawning when playing single until the disabling of reboots. Although these extra lives might encourage some players to fight more than they need, it’s worth playing safe to preserve those lives until they get disabled near the end of a match. You’ll receive 50 overshields for each reboot life that remains intact. Thus, preserving your reboot in solo lives will give you an additional overshield for the end game.
Get Sniping on Reload Oasis
Reload Oasis is a desert map that’s ideal for sniping. This map includes many high canyons and cliffsides that you can get on top of to shoot down players at ground level. You’ll also be able to spot many players from these elevated landscapes much more often because the map is much smaller than the one for Fortnite Battle Royale mode. So, a sharpshooter can do considerable damage with a scoped sniper rifle from the Oasis map’s elevated terrain.
Check Out Reload Zero Build
Don’t forget that there’s also an alternative Reload Zero Build game mode, much the same as for standard Fortnite Battle Royale. Zero Build is a no-build variation for both battle royale game modes. If you’re not big on fort building in Fortnite, you might do better in the Reload Zero Build variation.
Don’t Wait Around for Revives in Squad Matches
You can get infinite reboots until they’re disabled in Reload squad matches, as long as one of your teammates is still in the match. So, there’s little point in waiting and hoping for teammates to revive you when you’ve been shot down, especially in risky situations. Players can get killed trying to revive downed teammates when enemies are lurking. Instead, activate a reboot to get back in the match ASAP before all your teammates get knocked out.
Go in Hedges For Concealment
It’s harder to stay out of sight for prolonged periods in Reload matches because they’re played on much smaller maps. This makes hedges more useful for concealment during Reload matches, especially after the disabling of reboots. There are hedges on the Venture and Oasis maps where you can camp for protracted periods without other players seeing you. Then, open fire on players from players who walk within your range to catch them by surprise!
Pick Up the Grappler
The Grappler is a ranged consumable item exclusively for Fortnite Reload. This mobility item enables you to fire a plunger that connects with surfaces to pull you into them. It’s a very useful item to pick up in Reload matches because it can considerably increase your movement speed, enabling you to evade fire and avoid the closing outer storm whenever needed. So, I recommend picking up the Grappler for the sake of enhancing your mobility in Fortnite Reload matches.
Retreat When Your Teammates Are Down
One player must always be standing in your team during a Reload squad match for the others to reboot. So, it’s usually best to retreat to a safer location on the map where you will be less likely killed when two (and certainly three) of your teammates are waiting for reboots. Although killing enemy players can reduce reboot times, it’s very risky to fight squads on your own in Reload. Instead, fall back to a safer location and wait it out for a minute to ensure your team reboots and survives.
Utilize Team Healing Items in Reload Squad Matches
It’s better to pick up team-healing items rather than potions and medkits during Reload squad matches. Slap Slash, Flowberry Fizz, and Shield Keg are items with which you can replenish shield and health for yourself and your teammates. They’re especially useful for topping up the shields for your teammates after they’re rebooted. Or utilize those items to replenish health and shield for nearby teammates and yourself after gunfights.
Stick Together With Teammates After Reboots Expire
Reboots always expire near the ends of Reload matches, which is the point of no return. You’ll probably encounter more enemy teams of four or three players during the late stages of Reload matches because of the reboot gameplay mechanic. Thus, it’s all the more essential to stay close to and stand by your teammates for the final fights in Reload matches to survive against remaining enemy squads. Then, your teammates can more easily revive you when you’re near them, and you can do the same.
I have won some solo and squad Fortnite Reload matches myself by sticking to the tips above. So, some of those tips could give you a better chance of survival in Reload. Although Reload is a faster-paced battle royale alternative that draws players closer together, don’t forget that survival is still more important than kill count for winning its matches.
