The terrorist side is the attacking team in Counter-Strike 2 matches. This T-side has the objective of detonating bombs to win CS2 matches. Or terrorists can win rounds by killing all the players on the other team. Whether it’s better to play as terrorists in Counter-Strike 2 is debatable, but you’re not given any choice on what side to play on. So, we must play as both terrorists and counter-terrorists to win matches. Here are some CS2 tips to help you out when playing as terrorists in Counter-Strike 2.
Always Support the Bomb Carrier
It’s unlikely a bomb carrier will be able to plant a bomb all by himself (unless the target site is left undefended). So, it’s better for terrorist teams to stick together and move to the plant site the bomb carrier is heading for. Attacking a single bombsite with five players can give your side a temporary numerical advantage when the counter-terrorist team is split between guarding A and B. This approach is called the Rush tactic, in which all five terrorists launch a coordinated assault on a single bombsite.
Use Smokes to Help You Plant
Smoke grenades are a more useful utility for the T-side in Counter-Strike 2. So, it’s worth purchasing smokes and using them to help your team plant bombs. Chucking a smoke grenade at a bombsite when planting a bomb will make it hard for counter-terrorists to see and shoot at the player with the bomb. Although players can still randomly open fire into smoke clouds, their shot accuracy will at least be considerably compromised.
However, you can also use smoke to assist planting in other ways. Try chucking smoke grenades into areas from which they open fire at you when approaching bomb sites. For example, the passageway under the bridge on Dust II is an area from which counter-terrorists can open fire on terrorists approaching bombsite A. Chucking a smoke there will enable you to walk past that passageway without getting shot at.
Equip the SG 553 or AK-47 Assault Rifle
The SG 553 and AK-47 are two of the most potent weapons terrorists have in their arsenal. This is because they’re the only two assault rifles with which terrorists can pull off one-shot headshot kills against armored opponents. I prefer the SG 553 because its scope and lower recoil make headshot kills easier. However, the AK-47 is also a popular terrorist weapon because of its power, range, and lower cost compared with the SG 533.
Don’t Forget to Check the Corners!
Counter-terrorists will often try to hide around dangerous corners that terrorists will likely run past on their way to bomb sites. Then, they can shoot down those terrorists from behind who forget to check their corners. For example, the corner by the tunnel exit leading to bombsite B on Dust II is a dangerous one from which counter-terrorists can shoot you down. So, don’t forget to check for enemies lurking around dangerous corners with a sideways strafing movement.
Use the Best Grenade Throws
Effective explosive and utility grenade tossing at and around the bombsides will give your T-side a better chance of winning more rounds. This is why it helps to know and use the best grenade throws for specific maps. You can see what the best grenade throws are for the different maps on this CSNades.gg website. Click the numbers on those maps to see the positions and directions of the best grenade throws. You can also watch video clips for the throws there by clicking on their circles.
To practice the best grenade throws, check out the Astralis Utility Maps. Those are Counter-Strike 2 workshop maps on which you can practice some of the best grenade throws. Click the Subscribe buttons on their CS2 workshop pages to add them to the Workshop Maps tab in Counter-Strike 2. You can then select to enter those maps from there.
Double-Peek With Teammates
Double-peeking is a CS2 tactic in which two players check enemy positions and shoot at targets. If you see another player on your team shooting at counter-terrorists, then move just behind him to provide support fire. This enables you to double-up your fire on individual targets, resulting in more kills.
Focus on Planting the Bomb
You don’t need to kill everybody on the counter-terrorist team to win a round. Focus on clearing defenders away from bombsites so your team can plant bombs. Never delay planting the bomb when you have a good chance to because doing so considerably shifts the balance in favor of the terrorists. When a bomb is planted, time is on the side of the terrorists rather than the counter-terrorists.
Plant Bombs Behind Cover
Always plant bombs from behind cover positions such as crates. Planting explosives in more open spaces exposes you to counter-terrorist fire, which increases the risk of somebody shooting you. This is all the more likely when you don’t have any smoke grenade handy to cover your planting.
The drawback of planting bombs behind the cover is that it makes it slightly easier for counter-terrorists to defuse them. However, they’ll probably need to kill you first to get in a position to defuse. Use the cover around the planted bomb to defend the bombsite when counter-terrorists need to defuse it.
Those CS2 tips will make you a more potent terrorist in Counter-Strike 2. You’ll probably win more terrorist rounds in Counter-Strike 2 by sticking to them. Of course, much also depends on your teammates during matches, so try to coordinate your terrorist assaults with them.
