Walton Goggins shares his thoughts so far on Fallout Season 2

While viewers shouldn’t expect the second season of the Amazon Prime Fallout series until sometime next year, filming has already been underway since before the start of this one. Walton Goggins, who plays The Ghoul in the hit video game adaptation, will be reprising his role for Season 2 and shared his thoughts on the filming process thus far at the red carpet premiere of The White Lotus Season 3.

“We’re in the middle of filming it right now,” Goggins said. “We’ve been at it since November, and I can tell you that I thought season 1 was extraordinary, personally I was very pleased with it.

“This blows it out of the water, you know what these writers have done and the artisans that have come together to tell this story,” he continued. “It’s really going to be something and I can’t wait for people to see it. We’re working really hard to make that happen.”

In the past, Goggins has said that the procedure to become The Ghoul for Fallout initially took five hours to complete in the makeup chair with special effects artist Jake Garber before finally being cut down to one hour and 45 minutes by the season’s end.

“I couldn’t close my eyes. I had to sit in one place the whole time. So I just would put on a Western and just did research,” Goggins told The Wrap. “He got so good at it that I said, ‘Man, you need to take a little more time’ because some of these movies we were watching were like two and a half hours long.”

Goggins’ co-star Ella Purnell, who plays main protagonist Lucy, an idealistic yet naive Vault dweller also gave an update on Fallout Season 2’s production during the MegaCon Orlando 2025 panel.

“It’s going to be really good, I think. It’s a wild ride. It’s a wild ride. I’m really exhausted. We’re working really well to get it out on time.” She added, “no one’s going to be able to predict what happens. There’s some big twists this time around.”

Purnell also shared her thoughts on seeing The Ghoul for the first time.

“He’s terrifying to look at,” she said. “It is really creepy and they did such a great job with the prosthetics of making him look alien in a way and yet still hauntingly human and I think that’s actually what makes it so scary.”

Fallout Season 2 is still currently in the production stages and is slated for a 2026 release on Amazon Prime. Macaulay Culkin has reportedly signed on to play a recurring character in the second season alongside Goggins, Purnell and Aaron Moten, who plays Maximus, a member of the Brotherhood of Steel.

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
