7 of the Best Landing Spots on the Fortnite Chapter 6 Map

The first thing you must do when a Fortnite match starts is decide where to land. There are many places to land, but all (or at least most) players will be looking to start at spots with chests to open. The best landing spots on the Fortnite Chapter 6 map are those with plentiful loot to get you started that don’t often attract crowds of players. In this respect, it’s better to land at landmarks than the largest named locations on the map, like Seaport City, Nightshift Forest, Magic Mosses, and Masked Meadows.

Sure, the biggest locations might include more loot than landmarks. However, you’ll often have to slog it out with numerous other players landing at them when matches start, who will get to some of the loot before you do. If you prefer quiet starts to matches (which is always best for survival), it’s better to land at landmarks stocked with five or more chests, Slurp Juice barrels, vehicles (useful for avoiding the Storm), and even Elemental Chests. These best landing spots on the Fortnite Chapter 6 map meet that criteria.

Martial Maneuvers

Martial Maneuvers is a great starting point for matches near the northern coastline of the Fortnite Chapter 6 map, just northeast of Magic Mosses. This large residential building can have up to 16 chests for you to crack open inside and around it. One of them is an Elemental Chest that will give high-tier gear.

Another thing I love about this landing spot is that it includes a Slurp Juice truck. Smashing this truck will enable you to immediately max your shield. Then, you can save more of your collected Slurp Juice jars or Chug Splash for later.

Salty Docks

Salty Docks is a landmark along the eastern coastline of the Fortnite Chapter 6 map. You will find a good number in and around the crates of this dock. Plus, there’s an Elemental Chest to open in one of the crates, too.

Aside from the chests, this start location has some Slurp Juice barrels for shield top-up. There’s a good variety of vehicles available here to jump in whenever needed. You can stick around longer to collect all, or at least most, of the loot available at Salty Docks because those vehicles ensure you can quickly escape the closing Storm.

Pumpin’ Pipes

Pumpin’ Pipes is a landmark southeast of Demon’s Dojo. At first glance, it doesn’t look like there’s that much loot to collect at Pumpin’ Pipes. However, there’s a hidden gnome hideout beneath the surface of this location from which you can usually crack open about six chests, including an Elemental one. Slide down the zip line into the hole just behind the landmark’s surface building to enter that loot location.

In addition, there’s a bit more loot to collect on the surface of Pumpin’ Pipes. A Slurp Juice truck is conveniently parked here for you to smash. The launchpad near the entrance to the gnome hideout also provides a useful spring for avoiding the closing Storm.

Placid Paddies

Placid Paddies is a landmark in the northwestern corner of the Fortnite Chapter 6 map near the coastline. This landmark has three pools of water that include numerous chests to open. One is an Elemental Chest that will probably give you a cool Boon effect when opened.

There are more chests to open in the wooden cottages and sheds alongside the pools at Placid Paddies. The Slurp Juice truck beside the cottage is another bonus for landing here.

The Small Forest Northeast of Martial Maneuvers

This small forest area northeast of Martial Maneuvers circled in the screenshot directly below is a surprisingly good landing spot many players overlook. I counted eight chests to open here, one of which was an Elemental. Six of those are within the woods, and two more alongside the shack by the water, where you can also do some good fishing with the rods there.

This landing spot’s proximity to Martial Maneuvers is another advantage. You can land here and then quickly move on to Marital Maneuvers to open more chests, or vice-versa. There’s a huge amount of loot to grab at both locations combined.

Overlook Lighthouse

The Overlook Lighthouse is on the eastern coastline near Shining Span. This lighthouse area usually has at least six chests for you to open, including the special Elemental one. There are three chests within the lighthouse and more to open on the beach below the cliff. I have found the number of chests here can vary slightly between matches, but there will always be at least five.

Another thing I like about this landing spot is the elevated launchpad at Overlook Lighthouse. You can use this launchpad as a springboard to glide some way into the map when you’ve finished grabbing the loot at Overlook Lighthouse. That launchpad can propel you far enough to reach a gas station across the water that includes some chests. Alternatively, jump on that launchpad to propel you to nearby Pumpin’ Pipes north of Overlook Lighthouse.

Splitting Pins

Splitting Pins is a bowling alley in the wooded area in the far south of the Fortnite Chapter 6 map. It is a rather obscure landmark many players seemingly overlook, making it a good location to avoid early-game mayhem and ease your way into matches. There are quite a few chests you can open at this bowling complex, and its Elemental one is a notable attraction. You’ll find even more chests if you head south toward the coastline (beach area) just beneath Splitting Pines.

Those landing spots have more than enough to loot to get you reasonably equipped for fighting Fortnite matches and are usually quite safe to land at. To give yourself a better chance of averting an early game gunfight, jump towards those landing spots when they’re further away from the flight path. Then, you can tuck into the loot those landing spots offer without getting caught in early mud-slinging.
