6 of the best fishing locations on the Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1 map

Fishing has been a gameplay feature in Fortnite: Battle Royale since Chapter 2: Season 1 (2020). As a relaxing diversion from the blasting mayhem, take some time out to go fishing on the Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1 map. There are numerous types of fish to catch that can replenish your health and shield when eaten, and rarer ones have more unique effects. Plus, you can scoop up guns to add to your arsenal when fishing.

However, prolonged fishing can be a little risky when you aren’t keeping an eye out for players. It’s best to do your fishing in more remote areas along the map’s coastlines where there are fishing holes and fewer players running about. Although you can fish in all water bodies, you can catch better fish from whirlpools in the sea surrounding the map. The following are 6 of the best fishing locations on the Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1 map.

The Southeast Island

The relatively small island in the southeast corner of the Fortnite Chapter 6 map is quite a safe area to do some good fishing on the Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1 map because few players go there. This island is directly south of the nearby Kite’s Flight landmark, which includes an Elemental Chest. The southeast island has a shack with fishing barrels from which you can pick up rods. As this is a small island, you can fish around its small coastline, and its wooded area provides more camouflage from players.

The Yacht Shop

Yacht Shop is a landmark location along the northern coastline of the Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1 map, just northeast of the Flooded Frogs name location. This location resembles a small beach resort that has a reasonably sized building with a well-equipped fishing pier from which to do some angling. You can also fish from the various sandy beaches in and around that location.

This is also a good landmark to check out because there are a surprisingly large number of chests to be found here for a location with just one building. First, crack open the chests in Yacht Shop’s primary building. Then, open the additional chests to be found on the beaches in that location. Some of the boats there also include chests.

The Southern Beach Near Spiral Shoots

There’s a small beach on the southern coast of Fortnite’s map just west of the Spiral Shoots landmark. This relatively secluded beach includes a small fishing pier and shack where you can usually fish in peace. Aside from the good fishing, there are two chests at this shack. Plus, there’s a small peninsula at this location from which you can crack open three more chests.

The Fishing Shack East of Demon’s Dojo

You can find this fishing spot almost directly east of Demon’s Dojo. This fishing location is nestled in between Demon’s Dojo and a building on a peninsula in the northeastern section of the map. There, you’ll find another shack stocked with rods where there are white water circles teeming with fish for you to catch. In addition, there are five chests for players to open here.

The Fishing Pier Near Shogun’s Solitude

When on the western coast of the Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1 map, check out the fishing pier northwest of Shogun’s Solitude, where two rivers enter the sea. This is quite an off-the-beaten-track area where you can usually fish without too many interruptions before the closing Storm Circle forces you to move. Another good thing about this fishing location is the vehicle parked conveniently next to it, which you can hop in for a quick getaway from the closing Storm Circle after your angling. You’ll also find a couple of chests within this fishing shack.

The Fishing Pier Near Martial Maneuvers

You can find this good fishing location along the coast close to Martial Maneuvers by walking northeast from the Magic Mosses forest. This fishing spot is also directly east of the Yacht Shop along the northern coastline of the Fortnite Chapter 6 map. There, there’s another relatively obscure fishing shack that includes a couple of chests and a barrel of rods with which to scoop fish from surrounding white water circles.

What I love about this fishing spot is the well-concealed loot location in the small wooded area just above it on the map. There, you can open six more chests hidden among the trees. One is an Elemental Chest that contains a Boon and extra-special loot for you to tuck into. With lots of loot to pick up, this can be a pretty good landing area that doesn’t usually get too congested when matches start.

What Fish Can I Catch When Fishing?

You can catch fish, guns, ammunition, and other gear from the fishing locations above. There are currently about 15 varieties of fish to catch in the Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1 map. These are the fish you can scoop up and consume:

  • Flopper: Regenerates 40 HP
  • Small fry: Replenishes 15 HP
  • Shieldfish: Restores 50 shield
  • Slurpfish: Restores 40 health
  • Jellyfish: Replenishes 20 health
  • Rift Fish: Generates a rift and restores 15 health
  • Zero Point Floppers: Activates brief teleportation and regenerates 15 health
  • Vendetta Flopper: Regenerates 40 health and marks close enemies
  • Snow Floppy: Activates frozen feet and restores 40 HP
  • Spicy Fish: Briefly enhances speed and regenerates 15 HP
  • Stink Flopper: Generates a stink cloud and restores 20 HP
  • Hop Flopper: Generates low gravity effect and regenerates 15 HP
  • Shadow Flopper: Activates shadow and restores 40 HP
  • Cuddle Fish: Inflicts damage on enemies
  • Thermal Fish: Enables thermal vision and replenishes 40 HP

Fishing is a simple and fun way to obtain more and better gear on the Fortnite Chapter 6, Season map. You can catch many fishy items and open additional chests from all the well-equipped fishing locations discussed here. They are also reasonably safe places to go fishing that don’t attract too many competing players.
