No offense to Among Us or Contra, the last two IPs which collaborated with the insanely fun and addictive roguelike Vampire Survivors, but the game’s latest crossover announcement just makes way more sense.
That’s right, Konami’s Castlevania is crossing over with Vampire Survivors, which makes a whole lot of sense considering the whole whip, holy water, holy cross, undead monsters, Dracula motif which Vampire Survivors has been rocking since its inception. Oh yeah, there’s also a character named Simondo Belmont already in the game, so a Castlevania and Vampire Survivors crossover seemed pretty much inevitable.
Vampire Survivors developer Poncle states that the Castlevania and Vampire Survivors crossover will feature “an absolutely stupidly gigantic amount of content,” with more than 20 new characters being added, including the Belmonts and Belnades, and “other heroes” such as Jonathan, Charlotte, Eric Lecarde and Shanoa.
In addition to a slew of new vampire-slaying characters there will be 40 new weapons added, including eight new whips (we’re interested to see just how different these eight new whips can be), magic-infused weapons in the form of Alucard’s sword and spear, javelins, magic spells and enchanted glyphs.
Poncle also hinted at a new stage, described as “the largest map Vampire Survivors has ever seen,” which will likely be an amalgamation of the most iconic Castlevania levels and locales, which will also feature 30 new music tracks in the form of Castlevania remixes and original tracks.
“The Vampire Survivors gang have come a long way in their honorable hunt, and have now joined forces with the Belmont Family,” the DLC, entitled “Ode to Castlevania” reads.
“The sun has set on Dracula’s iconic castle once more, and as the moon rises a hellish horde of murky Mudmen, ghastly ghosts, and frightening Fleamen take the stage as the battle of good and evil rages under the moonlight.
“Unleash an arsenal of new Vampire-vanquishing weapons upon these beasts and leave a trail of doom in your wake on your quest to rid the world of the unspeakable terror. Do not be blind to the shadow that looms over you, Survivors, as your quest has only just begun.
“It’s all very serious stuff, so now let’s pump up the volume and let’s go, this is Castlevania in Vampire Survivors, you haven’t survived anything yet.”
The Castlevania and Vampire Survivors crossover, Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania is set to release on October 31st for Xbox, PS5, PS4, Switch, PC and mobile platforms.

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
