Fortnite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins set to hit the Item Shop soon

Cowabunga, dudes!

Christmas is coming early this year in Fortnite, for both us, considering Epic Games will soon be adding yet another entry from our Retbit’s Most Wanted Fortnite Collaboration Skins List to the fold — and the myriad Ninja Turtles fans across the world. That’s because Epic is adding none other than the Heroes in a Halfshell themselves, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Fortnite.

The Fortnite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins will, naturally, include all four of the brothers, including Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo — as well as their longtime human confidante and Channel 6 investigative reporter, April O’Neil. The Turtles will also sport their respective, signature weapons as their pickaxes. In addition, the Turtles all seem to sport unique animations with their respective weapons, whether that is Leonardo brandishing his sword, Donatello twirling his bo staff, Raphael spinning his sais or Michelangelo gyrating his nunchaku. The following video preview from a Twitter/X site called “TMNT Fortnite Countdown” offers an early glimpse of the Fortnite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins in-game as well as the aforementioned animations.

What’s interesting to note is that the Fortnite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins don’t seem to be evocative of one set era from Ninja Turtles history; that is, they’re not the cartoony 1989 OG versions from the Fred Wolf series, nor are they purely representative of the latest series in the franchise, 2018’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles — instead, the Fortnite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins are an amalgam of all the different eras. Of course, if the Fortnite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins are even half as popular as I think they’ll turn out to be, I could easily see Epic releasing TMNT skins in the future which are more distinctively representative of the different eras of the Turtles throughout the years or even the movie versions. As it stands though, it’s cool to have Fortnite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins that stand on their own and are exclusive to the game — the white eyes (evocative of the Mirage comics and the 2003 animated series) as well as the bandaged appendages (from the 2012-2017 series) are awesome touches and nice to see blended together.

The Fortnite TMNT skins as they’re expected to look in the Item Shop bundle/Epic Games

The Fortnite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins are expected to hit the Item Shop tomorrow night on December 14th at 7PM EST. They will also come with the TMNT Fortnite Lego variants. They are expected to cost a total of 3,600 V-Bucks in the bundle. The April O’Neil bundle is expected to cost 2,100 V-Bucks. The Turtles should also be available in individual fashion as well for around 1200-1800 V-Bucks apiece.

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
