Hogwarts Legacy, a Harry Potter-based action role-playing game developed by Avalanche Software, has been off to a spellbindingly strong start, with players having already logged over 267 million hours played since its February 10th release. That success, coupled with the ever-substantial popularity of the Harry Potter franchise has reportedly led to the development of a Hogwart’s Legacy TV show for HBO Max.
According to Giant Freakin Robot, a site that has been accurate with rumored productions in the past, the Hogwarts Legacy TV show for HBO Max is in the “in the early phases of development,” although there isn’t much more information outside of that as of this writing. Neither Warner Bros. nor HBO has confirmed the Hogwart’s Legacy TV show in an official capacity, so we’ll keep you updated as more intel becomes available.
Hogwarts Legacy game director Alan Tew, in a surprising bit of news, revealed this morning at IGN Fan Fest 2023 that the game wouldn’t be receiving any DLC in the near future, despite the game’s massive player engagement and success.
“We’ve been really heads down bringing [Hogwarts Legacy] to life, so at the moment there are no current plans for DLC,” Tew said.
Of course, the news doesn’t mean that Hogwarts Legacy won’t ever receive DLC in the future, just that there aren’t any plans at the moment.
Hogwarts Legacy is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms. In the game, players take control of a student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, while wielding different magical abilities and objects, aided by other students and professors. Players are also able to choose which house they’d like their player to be a part of, whether that’s Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin or Ravenclaw, a choice that hasn’t previously been available in prior Harry Potter games.

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
