“I’d buy that for a V-Buck!”
’80s action fans can add yet another iconic character to their roster alongside the T-800 Terminator, Xenomorph Alien and Predator skins with the addition of the Robocop skin to the item shop on Friday. And yes, thankfully, the skin exhibits the look of the OG Peter Weller Robocop from the 1987 movie directed by Paul Verhoeven. The Fortnite Robocop skin’s official description reads, “The future of law enforcement. Part of the Omni Consumer Products set. Introduced in Chapter 3, Season 2.”
Part man. Part machine. All cop.

The Fortnite Robocop skin reveal announcement video sees the part man/part machine, dystopian Detroit police officer first interrupting Meowscles, who is spray-painting graffiti on the side of a dilapidated building wall in Tilted Towers. Robocop is quick to uphold the law, whipping out a trusty revolver and sending the perpetrator fleeing. Did anyone else hear the trademark, “Come quietly… or there will be trouble” line in their heads when they first watched the reveal or are we just too hyphy for the Fortnite Robocop skin?
The Fortnite Robocop skin sports the LEG-209 Back Bling (official description quote, “Please put down your weapon”), which is a clever play on the name for fellow, robotic Omni Consumer Products creation, ED-209, a fully automated “peacekeeping” sentry robot from the film. The LEG-209 Back Bling is also available separately as a Pickaxe. Fans of more than just ED-209’s leg will also be happy to know that ED-209 can be seen (in miniaturized form) as a traversal, Lil’ ED-209 mount emote (“Careful on the stairs”).
What do you think of the Fortnite Robocop skin? Are you as big as a fan of Robocop and ’80s action films as Epic, Epic Chief CEO Donald Mustard and we are? Which staple ’80s character skin should Fortnite add next: Judge Dredd? Indiana Jones? John Rambo? Let us know in the comments.
Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
