Hearthstone: Nozdormu the Eternal, new Core Set Legendary minion revealed

The sands of time will be even more inescapable as brand-new Legendary minion, Nozdormu the Eternal, joins Hearthstone‘s Core Set.

Old school Hearthstone players might recognize the continuity of the new Nozdormu the Eternal card with the original Nozdormu from classic Hearthstone, a 9-mana, 8 Attack/8 Health neutral Legendary minion whose card effect read, “Players only have 15 seconds to take their turns.” Nozdormu the Eternal takes matters (hilariously) one step further by making each turn 15 seconds from the jump if both players have the card in their decks. Although Nozdormu the Eternal isn’t some game-changing card that will be an auto-include in the Core Set, it will facilitate some undeniably hilarious results — speed Hearthstone tournaments wherein all players are required to have this card in their deck, anyone?

Nozdormu the Eternal marks the third version of Nozdormu in Hearthstone overall, succeeding the original Nozdormu from classic Hearthstone and Nozdormu the Timeless, a 4-mana cost, 8 Attack/8 Health minion from the Descent of Dragons expansion whose card ability was, “Battlecry: Set each player to 10 Mana Crystals.”

In World of Warcraft lore, Nozdormu is a member of the Bronze Dragonflight and one of the five Great Aspects of Azeroth. Nozdormu’s job is to ensure that the flow of time transpires normally and that important events which are fated to take place do in fact take place; he was bestowed this duty by Aman’Thul, the Highfather of the Pantheon of Titans, who shaped the universe in which World of Warcraft takes place. The following is a quote detailing what Aman’Thul said when charging the Bronze Dragonflight and Nozdormu with presiding over the passage of time.

“Unto you is charged the great task of keeping the purity of time. Know that there is only one true timeline, though there are those who would have it otherwise. You must protect it. Without the truth of time as it is meant to unfold, more will be lost than you can possibly imagine. The fabric of reality will unravel.
