Cyberpunk 2077‘s long-awaited December 10th release date is almost upon us, and after a initial round of early access reviews that stated the game was overall impressive but riddled with bugs (which should be rectified by a day one patch), the hype for the futuristic, open world action RPG from CD Projekt Red is still at an all-time high.
That hype was only further augmented on Tuesday with CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077 official launch trailer, which starts out with Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) talking about the true purpose of life just before discovering the playable character, V, in what appears to be a junkyard. The trailer then shows glimpses of Cyberpunk 2077‘s various districts, some gritty and neon-lit, others sun-washed and bustling with people. Speaking of people, some of the game’s various supporting characters are shown as well, such as Judy Alvarez, a woman wearing a spiked collar, a woman wearing a white evening dress, various mobster-looking antagonists dapping each other up and a mad scientist that looks ready to dissect you on an operating table, just to name a few.
While this is taking place, the Cyberpunk 2077 official launch trailer features an ASMR-style whispered voice narrating enigmatically while the atmospheric “Never Fade Away” song by P. T. Adamczyk and Olga Jankowska (SAMURAI Cover) plays in the background. We’re pretty sure the soundtrack for Cyberpunk 2077 is gonna slap, by the way.
What do you think of the Cyberpunk 2077 official launch trailer? Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on December 10th on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia platforms. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S upgrades should be available early in 2021.
Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
