Cyberpunk 2077 DLC content to be revealed after game’s release

Cyberpunk 2077 gametime
Cyberpunk 2077 will feature over 175 hours of playtime.

Cyberpunk 2077 is facing another delay.

Wait, put those digital tomatoes down and hear us out. We’re talking about the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC reveal, originally planned to coincide with the game’s release; publisher CD Projekt Red has decided to push back the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC reveal in light of the game’s most recent delay.

“The initial plan was to do it before release, but after the recent delay, we decided to wait for the release to provide gamers with the game and then start talking about future projects. So, after release,” CDPR president and joint-CEO Adam Kiciński said in the developer’s latest earnings call.

Kicinski had stated previously that when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, the highly-anticipated, futuristic, open world RPG will have “no less DLC than The Witcher 3 had” in a Polish investor conference call.

Kicinski also stated that more news surrounding Cyberpunk 2077‘s multiplayer component (which CDPR had originally stated wouldn’t be available before 2022) would be coming “in Q1 next year,” ostensibly as part of the company’s full-year financial reports, which typically take place in March.

“It’s a separate dedicated production, a big production,” Kicinksi said of Cyberpunk 2077‘s multiplayer game. “And we plan — we think about it as a standalone product. Obviously, it’s not entirely standalone as it comes from the universe of Cyberpunk and is very much related to the concept of single-player Cyberpunk.

“It’s another independent production and [an] independent team of people works on it…. I said already we are not focusing right now on talking too much about other future products, products that are to be released after Cyberpunk. So please be with us in the first quarter of next year when we plan to share some strategy update. And I believe Cyberpunk multiplayer will be possible.”

Ninja Gaiden was my rite of passage at an early age. After finally beating that game (and narrowly dodging carpal tunnel) I decided to write about my gaming exploits. These days I enjoy roguelikes and anything Pokemon but I'll always dust off Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country and StarFox 64 from time to time to bask in their glory.
